Sponsored students and children and teachers from local schools who do not have access to such facilities/ whose schools cannot provide those facilities. Internet users who need high speed internet for education purposes. Reasoning for wanting a computer lab and the library is to provide needed Life Skills to the sponsored and community students, especially those from the poorest families. Due to the financial condition of many families, large numbers of students cannot afford to pay for computer lessons and opportunity to read the books. Having facilities of library and computer lab children can use their knowledge to enhance their skills and to help develop them selves and the country.
David and Carlyon Memorial Education Center has completed third month of its operation. The growth of internet users is gradually improving and the numbers of served client and members has reached 850 during this month. The library is being used by the existing members and 9 new users have joined as library members. The center is still serving the users with 10 computers with fiber optical internet connection. The activity classes for school children on Saturdays have been successful until this month as the center has been providing such activities for free. We expect to implement a nominal fee for such classes in the coming day. We expect that we will get the same kind of response for the children and hope that they participate. The center was open for school children during the festival holidays and the staffs have been very cooperative towards the center who agreed to work during the festival holidays.
